Those who seek to block the Portal thrive on the suffering of others. They feed off the attention. Like a flea-ridden stray that begs at your door; if you ignore it, it will go away. We must reclaim the Portal from the small, sad minds that infect it.

WARNING! This may require you to count past 10 so footwear removal is advised for the hard of thinking.
There are 64 votes required to pass a flash - not 200. Do the math. A minimum average score of 1.6 is required after 200 votes. So the cumulative score (if you add all of the votes together) would be 1.6 x 200 = 320.
But what if the first 64 votes were 5's? 5 x 64 = 320!
After that, there is no going back. Even if the other 136 votes were 0's the flash would still pass through the portal. So the 32% of votes for the flash outweigh the 68% of votes against.
And here's the kicker - because some users have multiple voting power, there does not even need to be 64 people voting 5. If those people have been members for a while, they could easily have a voting power of 6-7. In this case, as few as 10 people can get a flash past the portal. It is no wonder that so much 'crew' spam makes it past.
Now, we have all agreed to abide by the rules of NG and the decisions of the moderators so I will not advocate a campaign to change the rules. However, I do hope that messieurs Fulp et al will see sense in the above numbers and make it harder for those 10 people to spoil this great site for the rest of us.
